Changing Seasons!
By my estimation it was a fairly "average" wind year here in California, which is to say it was pretty good. Seasons are definitely changing now so it's time to make some travel plans, or grab a good video and dream. Fortunately we've got a brand new heavy-hitter video release that will definitely do the trick.
From the producers of Four Dimensions comes their new one, Minds Wide Open. This one features insane travel to world-class wavesailing destinations with the who's who of top waveriders today, coupled with top-notch hi-def film cameras and filming techniques. And consider that producer Andre Paskowski continued with the production of this film while undergoing cancer treatment. That is hardcore! Please show Andre your support by getting this film, and make sure he keeps pumping more out in the future.
And then there's The Windsurfing Movie II. If I thought the original The Windsurfing Movie was the best windsurfing film ever, what am I supposed to say about the sequel if the sequel is even better? Buy it, I guess.
We've also have the waveriding instructional by Jem Hall and Lars Peteresen called Winner to Wavesailor, which is obviously a sequel to their popular Beginner to Winner instructional video. And likeBeginner to Winner , this DVD is huge...almost 4 hours long. You can't go wrong.
Otherwise there's still plenty of more traditional ripping action DVDs to choose from, including Wind Legends: The History of Windsurfing. In fact, there's never been more content available than right now in...well, the history of windsurfing. These are some of the most popular ones: The Windsurfing Movie, Plug 'n Play 2, PWA World Tour Highlights 2007, SPAM 2.0, and the classic Surface Tension.
Finally, in the perfect no-wind alternative area - Standup Paddling, we have two standup paddling instructionals: Standup Paddleboarding, by Real Kiteboarding, and Stand Up Paddle Surfing, volume one, by Premier Productions. And now Volume Two is out, which covers more advanced paddling, and specifically, waveriding.
